Is there a timescale for how lomg employee inductuion records must be held? Many thanks.

7 years i think (most legal teams would know not to ask after that time)

As someone who has used training records as ammunition to fight ambulance chasers, I'd say indefinitely. By the way, we refresh inductions every 3 years here.

I agree Walker, i now scan records to the computer so i have them forever. i work in an office with a litigation specialist and she has informed me 7 years is the time scale she is informed to keep records.

As long as the employee is with you and then 3 years after - just in case - training and induction records etc can be invaluable in defending PI claims. Over cautious? Maybe but having been there and done that when we were not able to produce any documentation - once bitten twice shy they say!! Stu
