require best practice for load security, any information and guidance would be greatly appreciated ,seems to be grey areas especially where double deckers are being used

Hi

The DVSA will enforce this to their guidelines and may issue penalties to the driver and it may affect your operators license.

They will do this with double deckers as well. Are you operating rigid or curtain sided?

You will need to ensure the trailers are manufactured to the correct standard. You will need to ensure the head board can stop the load and you will need to ensure the load is secured internally.

The Health and Safety Laboratory have done a lot of work on this. You could read the research document (204 pages) or search google for the power point presentation - Nina Day has produced this and you can download it.
