A company has an extraction system within its dairy products manufacturing unit which is installed to extract mist generated within the area. Could this be classified as an LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation)? and does it qualify to have 14 months examination and testing carried out by a competent engineer? Any assistance will be much appreciated many thanks in advance.

It depends on the reason for which it is used. If it's to protect health by preventing inhalation - it's LEV and needs the statutory inspection. If it's purely for some other reason such as reducing humidity, then it's not and doesn't.
