Hi
Does anyone have any guidance for the layout and storage of chemicals and substances in a School Science laboratory store room.
A number of Chemicals are stored in appropriate cabinets however we also have racking. I'm concerned about certain chemicals being stored at height and if there is any guidance.
Thanks

Cleapps is a good resource for those in education. If your "controlling body" subscribes then there is a LOT of stuff that you can access free of charge which is very good common sense guidance on how to enable science in schools not prevent it from being done due to misinterpreted guidance from other industries. AFAIK almost all UK LA's subscribe, and, whilst I don't work in education I do do work for educational establishments and Cleapss have always been helpful when I have asked them for information for the locations I've been working.
You might find BS4163 partially useful too as it does discuss some things about storage and chemical works, though more for D&T rather than pure science.
