I've finished all my assignments and am just waiting on marking for the last 2 which I did side by side. (hopefully i'll get my assignment 3 marks today!) Your approach is definitely the correct way to approach each case study, it's worked for me so far. Get to grips with the concept of reasonably practicable (or reasonable practicability as it says in one case study in the book) as much as you can, it's important to be sensible, and look into all the legislation regarding using equipment when attacking the first assignment. Also if you can afford it, become an IOSH member now, get involved with your local IOSH meetings, and start your CPD on the IOSH website once you are a full member ASAP. All three of those cost relatively little (meetings and CPD are free!), but there are networking opportunities at local meetings, and once you've completed your NCRQ certificate you may achieve AIOSH after submitting some information to the membership team, which may help a potential employer see you are taking this career move seriously. A little tip: On the contents page, you might want to mark the subject that each case study covers, So for case study 1 I jotted down on the contents page : Working at Height, Sec 2,1 HASAWA 1974 Reasonably practicable Edwards vs National Coal Board This helped me if i needed to jog my memory when flicking back through the book.
