Looking on the HSE website today, I searched for 'redundancy' and found (apart from a lot of references to the word being used in an engineering context), a link to a document 'Staffing Levels' - http://www.hse.gov.uk/hu...levels-briefing-note.pdf It also references within it, amongst other things, the Management Standards & 'Organisational change and major accident hazards' as other helpful documents. I think this is a very helpful document for any organisation undergoing staffing reductions, with much bullet pointed quick items of advice to help keep thinking issues through. But I would welcome forum users thoughts on what other helpful general advice from a senior regulator such as the HSE to give to a senior management team during a redundancy consultation process already in progress at the moment. The industry is oil & gas, incorporating hazardous processes on and off shore. The company hasn't yet incorporated the stress management standards but otherwise has supportive functions such as HR doing a good job in the consultation meetings.

Thanks for this DAG, we're currently restructuring and while it doesn't say anything desperately new it's always helpful to be able to quote HSE when reminding senior managers about this stuff,
