I don't recall using a RA flowchart myself, but I can imagine a flowchart might be useful in some complex tasks or machinery where the assessment throw ups some 'what ifs' that require detailed study.

Could be particularly helpful in identifying where things can 'go wrong', part of your 'do I need to do more' question.

For example for sawing machines, a flowchart could be useful to remind the assessor to consider 'what ifs', like what if the saw jams, what if the saw disc shatters, or what if the LEV clogs up.

If those happen, need to ask what additional hazards are introduced e.g. untrained person trying to fix the problem when it should be a maintenance person, additional PPE required because of dust etc etc.

the flow chart is for a presentation so that it would be easier to understand to the naked eye, with verbal and practical elaboration as to the hierarchy of controls
