Just a quick Question,
We’re working on a site that uses Non-Powered Peco Lifts, which you wind up to gain height, I need to know do you need to have passed an IPAF course to us one or are they exempt as they are non-powered?
I’m hearing different things from different people
Thanks in advanced, Have emailed Peco and IPAF, still no reply

Gerry As far as I am aware you do not need a IPAF certificate But your staff do need to be trained on the safe use of the equipment

Do I need PAV training? Do I need training on a small static vertical machine without drive, also known as a Push Around Vertical (PAV)? Yes, you need training, and there is a half-day course for this. If you have an valid licence with Static Vertical (1a) or Mobile Vertical (3a), you will only require familiarisation on the machine, which should be recorded in your IPAF log book.

If you, your organization, or the site you work at, require IPAF training for non-powered (stated in policy, site rules, etc.) as part of the demonstration of a competent operator then the answer is yes.
Legislation asks for competency. A part of that demonstration (there are other aspects too) of competency may the possession of a current "ticket", but it is not the only way.
You can look at any internet site you like that will state that "you need training for this", but what Regulation are they, or you referring to, where it states that the operator "must have IPAF/CSCS/etc."..... as far as I am aware the only stated Regulated qualifier is competent.
