Hi , Good Day,
I need help :
No. of work accidents : 1
Total hours worked per year : 61,432 (31 staff)
How to calculate the rates.
I am confused as i tried- is this correct?
1 / 61,432 x 1,000,000 = 16.28 Injuries frequency rate.
Really appreciate your reply and advise thanks

Hi,
I would do it as
1 accident X 100, 000 -divided by 61,432 giving frequency rate as 1.63

If you calculate as 1 accident x worked hours and then divide by the 200k. This will give you your accident frequency rate

The original calculation is correct. Assuming the formula is correct!!
Elementary maths - remember BODMAS, for the priority in mathematical actions
Brackets of Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction
Essentially the fraction 1/61432 which if you substituted a simpler fraction to illustrate the point (say 1/2) is calculated first.
Nobody would disagree that using the simpler illustration of 1/2 =0.5
0.5 x 1000000 = 500000
