If an electrical appliance or battery operated tool has potentially become contaminated with asbestos dust how does one effectively clean it or is it simply best to dispose of it?
Thanks

A damp rag is the simple answer and dispose of it sensibly once done. I supposed if the asbestos may have made its way into any internal parts the equipment could be considered as contaminated, then you either remove outer casing and clean, or dispose of equipment.

Thanks. Another colleague also suggested EM 7 (Asbestos essentials), which says similar. Not sure about cleaning the electrical parts inside with damp cloth, but can dispose of as last resort.

Can you clean the working parts off with a class H vacuum cleaner?
