I was recently asked to provide a template for health and safety policy, however the request was really for me to prepare the policy.

The company is Property Management and they have no employees.

Just wonder how you good people would react to that request.

A Property Management company with no employees - really? Why would they need a H&S Policy if that is the case.

Unless you are looking to earn a few quid I would point them in the direction of the HSE's website;

OK not many takers.

Yes the company has no employees, someone had suggested they need a safety policy so they were asking around. Some H&S Consultancies were happy to sort the Policy for them, in spite of it not required.

I advised that it was not and I was thanked for my honesty.

It may be they are after an accreditation with an industry body. No employees sounds like they sub contract work out to me,,,,

Smurf, David, the fact is they do not need one at all.

When people ask for H&S policies as a matter of course they assume all businesses have one and possibly without knowing the regulations.

It is always difficult to explain to these people there is no need when there are no employees.

As I wrote there are H&S consultants who will provide one, but perhaps they don't understand the rules.
