Hi all
I am trying to find out some info on the installation of safety lines used in conjunction with harnesses and lanyards.
Who can fit them?
Do they require periodic inspection?
thanks

We have just been quoted for the installation of safety lines on our curtain sided trailers.

I will PM you the details.

In regards to the periodic inspection, that is a good question and I too would like clarification...

In regards to periodic inspection:

Yes for the purposes of PUWER. Frequency will be dependent upon what you install and where it is being used etc.

No for the purposes of LOLER. It is not lifting equipment.

I believe that horizontal safety lines are subject to a 12 monthly safety test and inspection, as per BS7883:2005 I believe.

Its been a few years since I was involved with this but I am not aware of any changes.
