Really piqued my interest - apparently drawn up under Section 79 of the Factory and Work Shop Act 1901 but not available as a download from the National Archives

There is a published 1981 Metrification ammendment but this was written under HASAW and refers to items such as tank height above ground, size of ambulance room, length of washing trough..

Given we have separate SI's on FAAW, welfare after this date a lot of the regulation has likely been absorbed in to other legislation - certainley nothing showing on HSE.

What context is the contractors paperwork giving (e.g. plant layout)?

Maybe they were testing to see if anyone actually read all the bumph they are asked for.

But I agree it would be of interest to know, even just to understand how H&S regs have evolved.
Maybe IOSH HQ have it in their archives

Never heard of them in 20+yrs of being involved in h&s.
Even if they are still around, doubt they have much practical application.
As we know modern chemical/process sites are governed by COMAH, COSHH, DSEAR etc as applicable.
What does Mr Google say?

These appear to have been amended several times until the whole regulations were revoked by Reg 19 of the COSHH regs 1988.

It looks like some/most of this was repealed by the 1981 First Aid Regs - page 5 of the SI 1981: No 917 refers to this legislation being revoked.

Hope that this helps

I've got a hard copy of these regulations in my 1976 edition of Redgrave's Health and Safety in Factories, starting on page 728
