We carry out a variety of lifting operations on our customers sites, normally these involve a lorry loader or mobile crane.
In this instance we are using a telehandler with a hook attachment, We have provided a detailed method statement and Risk assessment for the job . The customer has requested a lift plan, We do lift plans for contract lifts using mobile cranes but considered a telehandler different. You would not do a lift plan every time you used a forklift for instance.
I can see no regulation regarding Loler lift plans for telehandlers.
Is a lift plan a requirement?

A Lift plan is required for a tele-handler lift and if the load is underslung on the forks the operator should also have been trained for this as it is a different training to just fork loads, it will be classed as a none crane lift but this is all part of the planning of the lift. You do no have to have a plan for every lift but for the area and loads it may carry so Max load and extension of forks and types of material loaded in plan. Hope this helps

A lift plan per se is not even a legal requirement. Not even a method statement is a legal requirement. The only legal requirement is a Risk assessment. I would incorporate the lift plane as part of your method statement anyway (to satisfy your client).

Lifting with machinery must be properly planned and managed. In the case you describe a 'basic' lift plan is normally provided, it could be called generic, where the calcs are provided as per Blackburn31728 post.

The operator will need suspended loads training, if he has an NPORS card it will be listed,
I can send you a template of a telehandler lift plan if you like, very straight forward.
kind regards
