I am trying to find the maximum step down from a fire exit that is allowed. We recently had to move a fire exit 2 meters further along the factory wall and now there is a 1 foot step down to the ground.
Can anyone help me with the regulation on this distance.

As you have made a modification to the building this would come under 9999. Also consider disabled egress.

Try 'Approved Document K' (ADK) of the Building Regs, as the riser heights vary depending on the use and occupancy of that building

I am sure that as you have made a modification to the building especially in relation to fire safety 9999 is the document! Although this is not retrospective the fact that you made the modification brings it into play.
No doubt someone will correct me and I am happy to stand corrected.
