Afternoon everyone,
I have just started working for a printing company and at present we carry out tests of the E-stop buttons (9 per printing press) before the start of production every Monday morning. I would personally like to increase this to a daily test due to the hazards the printing presses pose, but was wondering if anyone else In the same or similar industry could tell me how frequently you perform these tests?
thanks in advance!
Rick

Rick
The British Printing Industry Federation used to publish various guidance on printing press safety.
Might be some guidance on the topic you are asking about.

More frequent testing does not necessarily mean greater safety. At the very least, you will be creating more wear on e-stop buttons and other components. If you don't have failures on the weekly tests I would say there is no justification for daily tests.

Hi Rick, I work for an engineering company and daily checks on all safety devices ( including fixed guarding) are carried out to confirm everything is secure and operational. Devices can be damaged over the course of a week and you need to ensure the devices will work when needed.
