I've been asked to give a 15 minute presentation for a job interview on what my strategy would be for 30 days, 30-90 days and then beyond. I would expect this when someone has been set on. Does anyone have any tips on this or experience in a similar scenario as personally without know the accident rate and hot spots of the business feel like my presentation would be fake.

They are looking to see what your tactical planning skills are (had three of these requests to date)

Day 0 - 30 meet new colleagues, find way around site/business, identify existing systems/procedures/key data and data gaps

Day 30 - 90 review current business practice and documented procedures against industry best practice

Day 90 + devise strategy to ensure company is at lead of best practice, prioritise activity (target low hanging fruit) and implement change then review at agreed periods

Put some bias dependent upon who the potential employer is e.g. improving personal knowledge in... and what you can identify from the web and other sources e.g. if they already hold OHSAS 18001 identify continued accreditation against implementing

Thanks the first bit is what I would have said. I think maybe I've been over thinking it. I've worked for the same company 17.5 years and only had 1 external interview so am a bit rusty.

Make sure that U 'copywrite' your presentation especially if they put it in their IT system for U to use it in the interview; use your own kit if U can as many many many companies just steal ideas and 15 mins is a long time ---- rant over

brest of luck

It depends on the industry and position that you've applied for (HSSE director? HSSE advisor?).   I think this is more of a test of your character rather than something you will commit to doing if you actually get the job.

Roundtuit could be correct, but I'd say its likely they'll want to see things which demonstrate that you will establish your presence and authority within the company.

Instead of this:

Day 0 - 30 meet new colleagues, find way around site/business......

Change the emphasis to

Day 0 - 30 engage with senior leadership, reaffirm their commitment  to HSSE and carry out site visits together.  Identify top risk scenarios.

etc

You want to demonstrate that you'd do some tangible things within the 90 days.
