Does anyone know if there is a BS / EU standard that relates to overshoes to be worn by staff outdoors in icy / packed snow conditions ?

Thanks

These items are not covered under the PPE directive so there is no EN standard

No hEN = No CE

I think the Inuit / Eskimo people of northern Canada have a suitable standard....

http://www.winterwalking.com/blog/why-are-there-no-regulations-around-ice-cleats/

This is an America article but it makes a valid point. In addition these sorts of products are fairly new and it takes time and money to get any sort of standard up and running. I suspect that the cost of standardising ice grippers would make them too expensive to be a viable product unless it was mandated by law

I tend to use a tennis racket tied to each foot, it serves two purposes, I can walk on ice and if it dries I can have a game of tennis with a friend.

Someone has to ask where do you keep your balls (tennis) when it is cold?

Or next to if it's very cold.
