Hi all...
I am reworking our arrangements sections for Confined Spaces and looking at the HSE Flow chart and guidance for identifying a confined space.
It states as part of the specified risks "loss of consciousness from increased body temperature" am I missing something? Surely a decrease in body temperature should be included? I know it’s Monday but really cannot work out why this isn’t included - hoping someone brighter than myself can come along and solve this little mystery for me!!

The regulations do not list low temperature as a specified risk.
The regulations apply to places to which the regulations say they apply. The definition in the regulations explicitly includes elevated temperature but not low temperature. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1997/1713/regulation/1/made

Sorry to jump in on this post
What are peoples' opinion on classifying a lift shaft as a confined space?
We have several lift shafts, all have pits around metre and half dep.Lift Engineers if working in the pit have the bottom doors open.
