Hi, Has anyone got any experience of setting up a wellbeing program for remote workers? We are already running an successful program for employees who are office based however we have a large proportion of the workforce who are field based. I want to be able to include these employees in some way without added significant costs - limited budget.
Thanks

Depending on the specific objectives of the 'Wellbeing' service you have in mind, it can be very similar to Employee Assistance Programmes which offered confidential counselling services to employees of organisations who subscribed to an EAP programme provider. EAPs were commonly staffed by people qualified in counselling, regulated by one of the relevant national professional associations and monitored by chartered clinical psychlogists. Measured outcomes included reduced levels of absence and increased resolutions of sources of work-related stress and in some cases of other source of stress. Fees to subscribing organisations were anchored at the then (1990s) lordly sum of £25 p.a.
Unless you specify the objectives of a Wellbeing service, you are at risk of wasting time and resources.

Not sure where you are based but in Scotland there's the Healthy Working Lives initiative which often has free events that perhaps some of your staff could attend (there's probably an English equivalent so worth finding out). We also have EAP for employees and have just introduced a newsletter on wellbeing which is published on our intranet quarterly and has a mixture of articles as well as recipes, mindfullness tips and APPS staff can download. Where we can, we'll also promote events that might be coming up in different localities that staff could attend such as fun runs. There's absolutely no obligation for staff to attend these but we'll include photos of teams / individuals who do compete in the newsletter with their permission.
It is difficult to co-ordinate a wellbeing initiative when people are dotted across the country to the same level companies who have all their staff in the one location though so can sympathise!
