Hello I am looking for qualification which allow me to provide occupational health (OH) case management as OH advisor. We are small company as we employ around 30 people.
So far I found Certificate in Occupational Health Case Management qualification provided by The At Work Partnership in London.
Do you know about any alternative training? Any sugestions / advice? Thank you Artur

I found the At Work Partnership's certificate to be well worth the outlay. I manage our OHA, and she manages the OH contract; if you're in this kind of arrangement then I would absolutely recommend this course. As Ian implies you shouldn't take on any actual OH work unless you are a qualified OHA, but managing the function or running a contract with a third party is fine,

Hi Thank you for reply. I am not occupational health advisor. However I am NEBOSH and CIPD qualified. I am thinking in the lines of managing employent health questionnaire after offer of employment and current employees. Health quesionnaire will have two parts. First part will be generic (where majority of workers will fall, I think) and more detail in second in necessary. I will screen both parts. If only first part completed I will pass straight away in sealed envelope to HR where it will be kept in lock cabinet. If second part will be completed we will refer to the external occupational health advisor. Of course Data Protection Act will apply. Also I will act as point of contact for occupational health advisor and GP, if necessary. Other duties in mind are: managing short and long term absence, managing medical information for first aiders (e.g. if somebody have astma, I would like ask employee to complete separate form with their permision to tell First Aider where to find inhalator and anything that we need to be aware just in case in emergency and what to tell ambulance crew - form will be kept in lock cabinet and use only in the case of emergency), etc. Cheers Artur

Hi Artur, That all sounds OK, especially as you are using an external OHA. I can definitely recommend the @Work Partnership course. I know that our current OHA (on a consultancy contract with us) was very envious of my going on the course, as she thinks it is the best available.
Word of advice, you should change your user name unless you want your gmail inbox flooded with offers of welsh dressers and fake UK passports... This is a public forum and it's not a good idea to post under your email address,
John
