Scribbing area / blocking area- during lifting, the force exerted on the outriggers / outriggers pads max. thickness especially as load swings? The force cannot be constant? The force impact on the area? Need anyone shed more lights on this. Any reference guides would be appreciated.

Good morning, Scribbing area / blocking area- are you referring to the floor area the outriggers are set up on? The Mat size, mat material and thickness will depend upon your maximum point loading and should be incorporated into your lift plan. The person planning the lift should work this out. For consistence of force applied at any one time this is normally calculated at 75% of the fully rigged weight. Again this should be incorporated as part of the lift plan as other considerations need to be taken into account. Is the lift taking place I the UK? The crane supplier will be able to offer this as a contract lift. Kind regards Angelo
