Hi all, this being my first post i was wondering if any IOSH members have any information about using reactec analytics platform for riveting within the aircraft industry, I have been involved with HAVi and their systems for 5 years, but my company has gone over to Reactec Analytics Platform. At present we are unable to capture data from the riveting process as the Havwear watch is unable to pick up the short 1 second burst, whilst the rivet is being form. I would be greatful if any member has a solution to this problem or has experiance similar issues.

Hi,

The HAVwear system has been tested on a number of riveting and blocking activities within the aviation sector and is readily capable of detecting short duration activity such as this.  The REACTEC team would be interested in learning more about the specific processes involved here in order to facilitate a solution so if you could please contact support@reactec.com we can investigate this further.

Hi Nick thanks for the responce, could you give me any highlights to what aviation sectors have experiance of riveting, the company I work for undertakes large structual repaires were most fastners replaced are with high-locks, but there are times when we have to replace may be 50 plus solid rivets at a time.

Hi. We have conducted successful trials with the RAF and a major airline (possibly your own).  Riveting operations tend to generate high magnitude short duration vibrations similar to other impact tools such as impact wrenches but these characteristics are well within the capability of the device so it feels like something else must be going on.  Might be worth a site visit or remote tool evaluation to understand the issues.  Could you email me the specific tool details?  If you use the support email address but mark it for my attention it will get through to me. Thanks Nick support@reactec.com
