You can register with CHAS, but I don't think they do membership.

Why are you registering? Are you a Client or a Contractor?

The most valuable information that I can give having been through it lately is.

Ensure you have evidence to support every aspect of the process with plenty of examples where needed, read the guidelines, if you do not have all the information needed wait to start your application until you have it. This will stop a game of ping pong asking for more information. I say this because the process is not the easiest to follow. Allow plenty of time too.

You will find all the guidance on what you need with regard to demonstrating compliance with all the CHAS standards appropriate to your category of application via the CHAS website. This can be accessed by the following: www.chas.co.uk. Just click on the various links.

This was the information that was provided to me recently by CHAS themselves.

CHAS SUPPORTING DOCS LESS THAN 5

Example supporting documents that you will need to upload alongside your application are as follows:

  Risk Assessment

Method Statement

Employers and public liability insurance

Asbestos awareness training doc (That is if applicable to company)

COSHH (Hazardous substances assessment) (That is if applicable to company)

Health & Safety policy statement

Health & Safety training documents or certificates acquired

Working at height (sample proof) that is if applicable.

Cheers

Andy
