Hi
I have a colleague who is working with inmates at a prison who are packing Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulphate). Clearly this is a vulnerable group. Has anyone an SOP and/or related risk assesments? If so that would be most helpful to use as a guide to amending.
Also does anyone have information on where I can access toxicty information on Magnesium Sulphate - by ingestion, inhalation, skin contact.
This is a long term project which looks to help inmates gain new skills and experience to assist them when they leave prisons.

Hi Eddie,
This information should be available on the SDS (SAfety Data Sheet) which the supplier should be able to make available. The SDS should provide you with the information required to carry out a COSHH risk assessment. It no good looking at what others have done though as the COSHH risk assessment is specific to how you are using this substance. John

As a "medicine" a Safety Data Sheet it is not necessarily available - information for consumer is placed upon the packaging Only the industrial / agricultural grade would be supported by an SDS but then purity levels drop and you then have to consider other substances being present

Must be the power of the internet as both examples are 29 cfr1910:1200 i.e. US classification so not directly comparable to an EU CLP
