Good afternoon ladies and gents. I am currently working in the offshore wind industry and have a query on the subject of lifting N2 cylinders with a static davit crane. I have some experience in lifting liquified gases but not from a small transfer vessel to a turbine TP. I have suggested a specifically designed lifting cage as i would have used in the past but it is more practical to use cylinder "choke" straps or lifting slings.

Does anyone have experience using these devices as opposed to the cage. The problem is transporting the cage from the accomodation /CTV boatlanding as it is not condusive to hauling the cylinders in the cage etc.

Your thoughts and advice are welcome.

Cheers
