Ground works operative highlighted he has HAVS symptoms on his questionnaire. Recent induction medical questionnaire indicates a clean bill of health dated 5.5months ago. He says he has suffered for two years?  He is on a vibration tool ban until med check comes back. Best course of action anyone?

Talk to him and occ health reference what has been said, and written down previously.

It is likely that people doing that work have it, question is what are you wanting to do about it?

If previously not reported to HSE, it will become a riddor when you "find it" via a tier 4 or tier 5 test. There are prior stages but need to get to the consultant to get something sensible back.

Was asked previously "do you want to have to manage issue?" you will have to answer the same question for yourself.

Person with experience is likely to have the issue so you need to trade off the capabilities to the activities that you employed him for, and address the issue going forward for others as will have others in the same boat who may not have declared it previously, (because of fear it could make them unemployable) doing what they have done previously.

hse referred to the guidance document and asked for new equipment and reducing As Low As Reasonably Practicable, problem is what that means to you and your activities - full review of what you do and how you do it.
