I am looking to remove kitchen units and work surfaces. Do these class as "structures" under CDM regulations?

No, but they are within a structure and the work involved in stripping out and dismantling will fall within the definition of construction work.

Beware asbestos containing materials!

Hi Steve

If you need to remove or re-position any earth bonding clamps on the re-fit please read the instructions on the label mate. The bit where it says Safety Electrical Connection - Do Not Remove' is not a joke.  Before playing with these things speak to an electrician and follow the instructions.  He or She should tell you to switch the consumer unit off (prove dead amnd lock off if nessessary).  It just may save your life.  For a detailed explention of this PM me.  Electrical safety advice from me (and P.S.  is free of charge on here;-)
