Hi John
Only just spotted your posting. I've started a thread on same topic in the Members' area.
Apparently Unite have published "left wing propaganda"!!

Oh..the members area.
Fortunately I have no access to same.
Apparently, anything unions say/do is left wing rubbish: to a certain class of mind.

I got my union news after I read the above, so apparently there is much of this left-wing scaremongering.
If the dishonourable member is so sure of its safety, let him have a quick white asbestos dust bath...

Had my share of crocidolite and still have the worries. I am not therefore of that class of mind. I do however care that forums should not be used as a vehicle for publicising political propoganda. The HSC themselves have expressed questions concerning the issue of handling asbestos composite materials. There is a genuine debate to be had and different does not causally mean weaker.
We seem to have entered a period where we are seeking to villify people using potentially biased arguments without taking a neutral look at the evidence. My starting point is that journalists are not averse to making facts fit the story they are writing

Politicians do on occasion have their own reasons when tabling questions in the House, but let's be realistic.
The vast majority of Elected Members questions are either "planted" by the Front Benches, or else "sponsored" by third parties.
If (if only) individual members of parliament followed their own conscience and the views of those who elected them, then terms like "Brexit" simply wouldn't exist.
