We are having issues with back injuries relating to the loading of plastic pallet boxes.
These were purchased without any thought to Health and Safety just to increase the amount of stock you can get on a pallet. I have used a Mac tool and still can't reduce the amount of stooping as the pallet folds inwards and the hatches at the side only fold down a little bit. I think they are a poor choice but at this stage replacing for something more suitable isn't an option. Has anyone experienced something similar and overcome it or know a link to information on the best practice to load/ unload these?
We've also had staff fall into them due to leaning.

Within the constraints you outline, working in pairs may be the safest option and probably one you would be expected to try if you found yourself in a tribunal or court.

Have you thought of a highrise pallet truck. I have used in the past to great effect, it enable you to stack at the right height constantly

One of my group companies i cover use hydraulic lifting tables to palletise from a suitable height for the employees. Something like that may help? Obviously if it is pratical for you, it's covered by LOLER.
