the contractor has ruptured a gas main while excavating. Gas supplier has been informed and has repaired the damaged pipe. What does the contractor need to do. Does he report it as a dangerous occurrence or the gas supplier. Should he report it anyway. Thanks

If the pipeline operator deems the incident to fall into the DO category, then they are legally obliged to report it as per the Pipelines Safety Regulations 1996.
