Hi all, abrasive wheels (use of), eye protection should be goggles (re "B" standard), is it true that glasses (all) are only rated to "F"? - low energy, therefore should not be used.  Thanks.

Regardless of the impact rating, glasses should never be used with abrasive wheels. I've dealt with two eye injury situations (one of which was fairly serious) where the broken segment of blade went underneath the glasses. Fully enclosed goggles all the way!

Thanks Stern, goggles EVERYTIME. Apart from the obvious issue of impact, also from a chemical point (entering the eye). Are (safety) glasses only rated upto 45m/s?

Any form of spectacle with a frame will only be rated as "light" impact even if they have side sheilds and guards under the bottom edge of the frame.  Goggles give much better protection but can interfere with normal spectacle use if the user needs them to see what they are doing.  Faceshields are a viable alternative where users need vision correcting spectacles.
