Inductions... We have a lot of remote workers who are subcontracted. When we have a fixed site we are able to provide site inductions as Principal Contractor. If we send people out on our behalf to do, for example, CCTV drainage surveys on private land, do we have a duty to carry out an induction or would a pre-populated document with all of our requirements signed off suffice. The surveys are less than half a days work so the welfare etc. would be addressed by their employers. We would vet them before employing them as a business anyway.
what are your thoughts?

Not a simple answer to this one because transient workers are always a problem when visiting clients' sites. The process adopted would depend on a number of variables, but as a rule a job pack is provided giving the operatives as much information regarding the site as is reasonably possible. For example, any special arrangements for gaining access to the site or signing in, welfare facilities or the nearest available, an asbestos register or survey, any other specific hazards associated with the premises if known, etc.
Most of this information will be available from the client in advance and/or doing Google type searches.
