I have a power press with a travel speed of 1cm / second and therefore I understand there  is no requirement for a guard. Does this also exempt it from the (thorough) inspection requirements of PUWER.

Need to review document L112 and determine the full extent of what you need to do/not do.

Hello michaelt, Can I ask you first, where you got your 0.6m/s from? Next where you get the no requirements for a guard from? Penultimately what you are referring to when you state that it’s exempt from “thorough examination”? Lastly please, what kind of “power press” is it? Does it have a flywheel & clutch, or is it for example a screw press, or hydraulic press?
thanks 1 user thanked paul.skyrme for this useful post.
