Hi All

Can someone summarise for me what a business needs to do in order to sucessfully achieve this accreditation please?

I'm just after bullet points at the moment for a meeting I have later this week.

Thanks

Thanks John, I was hoping that someone could provide a bit more detail here.

Quite hard to summarise as standards are quite in depth but in general:

  • Complete a gap analysis of where you are now where you need to be to achieve the standards.
  • Leadership commitment - absolutley key and vital.
  • Management reviews with Leadership atleast annually.
  • Lifecycle analysis of products and services you use.
  • Control of outsourcing (contractors, services).
  • Look at external and internal issues that affect the organisation (i.e. PESTLE analysis, climate change)
  • Context of organisation - what are the needs and expectations of interested parties.
  • Management system processes and procedures.
  • Policy commitments.
  • Communications, awareness and competencies.
  • Environmental impact assessments.
  • Understand compliance obligations (Legal, customer requirements and what needs/expectations of interested parties then fall into a compliance obligations). Understanding where you are with compliance obligations i.e. RAG status.
  • Carrying out internal audits of compliance obligations and ensuring that you audit each of the standards in a three year period.

These are all of the top of my head but there are great summary documents available on the internet.

The requiremetns are a bit too extensive to just reproduce here when there are very good documents eradily available that already details this well.

The 3rd link down on the Google search above is the BSI checklist which summarises what you need to know.
