Hi all.  Not been on here for a while so hello everyone.

I was recently doing a health and safety file for a customer and looked throught the Schedule of Works to see half hour FR doors required in some areas.when I asked about the FR door supplier, so I could request certification for the doors, I was told the FR Doors were not installed as they were not required, it was 'more robust door installation and not to satisfy and fire separation requirements'.

With the Grenfell tragedy in mind I have aquired an email from a Partner of the design company to the above effect and included that in the H&S File documents.

I just wonder what people here think about it.

Cheers.

If, fire rated doors are not a requirement as per guidance, then clearly it would be a waste of money to fit them. However, if someone made the decision not to install FD30s doors without good reason I think they need to explain their actions. I have recently designed and introduced a project h&s audit tool for major projects which includes a change control request tab in order to prevent such occurrence.
