As H&S professionals I think that we should be sending an appropriate message about risk management in relation to this incident. The danger posed requires action from the HSE and I think IOSH. We need consultation and the drafting of new European directives followed by the application of delegated UK legislation and an ACoP. Training should be provided in the highly specialised form of risk assessment required to manage this hazard… or we can just sit back and have a laugh!

The manufacturer SDS dated September 2016 on their web site does not have anything listed in Section 1.2 "Uses advised against"

Now if I were a "no win, no fee" law firm based in a particular part of the world.....

How some people can be so unbelievably stupid at times astounds me. I despair. It's a wonder his 'friends' didn't plug it in to see what would happen, it sounds like they'd be stupid enough to do it.

I fully agree that any new legislation must be risk assessment led as we don't want anything from Europe that is set in concrete...

Oh very good!

If they had plugged it in, do you think it would have been 3 minutes, full power? Seems to work for everything else, and it is very remiss of the manufacturers not to give a cooking time for polyfilla, or brain matter.
