Dear All,
I'm putting together a proposal for a project in Egypt and just wondering if somebody can point me in the right direction of the Construction related HSE Regs over there?

Good idea to be aware of local regulatory requirements but should you also be considering applying global best practice as a differentiator? All dependent on variables including the nature of the client and who is likely to end up executing the project.

Absolutely agree Peter, I would imagine there are specific local requirements for reporting accidents, approval of 3rd party certification companies and many other such specifics though and these need to be included.

You should try to find out what really happens if it all goes wrong. The rules might not be as clear as the law books say. They might want to pin the blame on anything going wrong on the external foreign contractor rather than the local people. Watch out.
