Hello all.

Have any of you had any experience with protective gloves for pallet wrapping with a shrink gun? The risks are the open flame from the gun, and they also pat down the heated plastic.

Our team currently use welding gloves to carry out this task, however they are complaining that the gloves aren't providing enough heat protection and they also don't last very long due to them coming into contact with the flame.

I have been reading up on EN 407 but not sure what the ideal rating against that for this type of work should be.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Have they been adequately trained for the task or are they copying bad habits from sitting with Bob?

Where hand torches have been used to shrink wrap in previous employments there were none of the issues you describe suggesting that the Man, Method or Materials are incorrect.
