Good Afternoon All, I need a bit of help can anyone explain in simple terms the meaning of EN954 regarding the level of guarding. Thank you in advance.

These are standards for safety related control systems.  I dont think they refer to guarding (unless you're think light curtains etc).  So basically it covers where a safety related control input is initiated and and then outputs at the power control elemets of the system

EN954 is an obsolete standard. You should look at EN13849 or EN62061.
