Hi Mike,
I have just recently completed my IEMA Diploma in Business Sustainability. The reason I went down this route as opposed to the NEBOSH is for two reasons.
Firstly, the NEBOSH is more "hands on" management, for example if you are responsible for the day to day running of a site and environmental permits etc. If this is your day job I would certainly recommend this route. Whereas the IEMA is a more broader, bigger picture and holistic qualification which suited my needs and job role better.
The second reason (this might be purely perception) I went for the IEMA is they are the organisation for the environment and sustainability as opposed to NEBOSH who specialise in health and safety. The qualifications are Level 6 so this should not be an issue, but I have discovered there is a certain snobbery about which you go for, particularly if you are aiming for CEnv.
Comments have been made to me about being a SHE person who wants to bolt on the environment element which could not be further from the truth. Just something to consider.
All the best in whatever you decide.
