Happy Friday everyone

I have been asked to look into a cost effective (cheap tbh) lone working solution for a private stables. There are 3 members of staff who are based there and at the moment nobody has any control or idea of where they are or what they are doing at any time.

Have any of you any knowledge or experince of any apps or devices which will be cheap to purchase or sign up to and simple to use?

Thanks

Stay Safe app.  Remote monitoring (and web based you can do yourself) and escalation.  ~£12 or so a month per person.

Happy Friday!

Thanks Spacedinvader. I spotted this one online. Have you used it? If so does it do the job?

All depends on the working circumstances, the cheapest option for raising an alarm if you have someone nearby is “man-down device” which usually costs around £60-90 it activates after few minutes of immobility (you can adjust some of them like 2-4min) ear piercing sound like 100dB. It is also attachable to the belt.

However, if there is no one on site at all, you just go for the system as above there is another one called “microguard” same £12 a month it is connected with ARC (alarm receiving centre) that is 24/7. This can be set up to activate even on the slip or trip – the operator will call the person and if cannot get them they will call yourself (or someone appointed) – various options

Again you need to decide whats best to your needs and please remember the best option is to eliminate lone working where possible.

Not (yet) personally but one of our guys uses it on a project in England.  He highly recommends it.

It is worth completing a forum search as this has been asked previously. We are looking at a company which is considerably cheaper than £12 a month but we have many more users. Most apps I have been quoted for are around £4-£6 a month but the user can change settings so may not work if you have someone who doesnt want to use it. I would suggest you define what your risks are and how you want to address them and then search the web for solutions. Happy to recomend if you wish to pm me
