Good afternoon all!

I'm a safety advisor for a construction company and whilst i was in the office this morning, an office worker approached me and said that she was showing symptoms of vertigo from the use of her computer where all of her work is to be done; Monday to Friday, 9-5.

I have never heard of anything like this before, can anyone help with this at all?

It may be that I'll get her to speak to her doctor, but in the meantime I'd like to help her with any tips to prevent this.

Thanks in advance.

Apologies if I am trying to teach you to suck eggs, but you need to be clear that you are looking at Vertigo the medical condition and not Vertigo as in the fear of heights. These are two very different things.

This web site may be of some help.

As you say also get them to get some medical advice. My father-in-law suffers from vertigo and it has in the past left him incapacitated for a couple of days, he now takes medication.

I have had labyrinthitis caused by an ear infection which I’m told has very similar symptoms – its more than just being dizzy!

She needs a proper medical diagnosis - I've never heard of a DSE causing dizziness or vertigo.   Usually it's caused by a disturbance in the inner ear.  I've had viral labarynthitis and couldn't stand the TV, laptop or anything with a moving image but the problem wasn't caused by these things.
