Hi David

Yes I use the Guardian24 application that loads onto a smartphone. We use these accross Ireland (North & South) and they have proven reliable and relatively inexpensive with 1 annual license costing £43. I use these for field staff who may find themselves working alone. They are belt and braces as we also have lone working protocols in place.

Regards

J

The charity I work for utilises Gaurdian 24. This is across the SW. No issues or complaints so far. Not sure on costs as we have up to 100 front line members of staff that have access to it. As above, we also have other lone working procedures in place as well

Can anyone advise what duration they think is reasonable between check ins?

We have just implemented an app solution, and as expected am encountering some resistance!  The main feedback is we are expecting them to check in too frequently.

Thanks

Because our frontline staff have unpredictable appointment durations, they might book 30 mins and be done in 15 or it may take 60. So we have themn set the follow up procedure for the opointment + 10 mins. They can adjust on the fly if they need to. But we have had issues with a couple of members of staff who continually forget to log off after their appontment so it escalates and they are then very apologetic.

I set up a trial using a phone app called Staysafe when working for Carillion. It was very successful and flexible. Their web is www.staysafeapp.com have a look and see what you think.

They also arranged the trial free of charge on a number of handsets

thanks 1 user thanked armchairwarlord for this useful post.
