I am a trainee H & S Manager (Agriculture) One of our branches stores and delivers diesel to our farming customers. I am not sure of the quantities yet. I have been asked to put into place,a hyperthetical safe system of work (theory only as this is a project for my ongoing CPD and training at work) I have searched online and have started to collect information but I wondered if you guys could possibly give me any expert advice please?

The Qty is very important to your task. yuo need to consider ADR and if you fall within the limits. Also how you are carrying it ( also search "HSE Fuel Boweser" limited quantities if that is what you use. ADR is fun! Starter for 10 http://www.hse.gov.uk/cdg/manual/exemptions.htm

Thanks for this. I am just in the process of finding out the quantities and to see if our drivers have ADR training (I believe they do)

If it turns out they are under ADR then any passengers will also need training as they are considered part of the "crew". Also may need a DGSA to plan. Chris
