Couldn't agree more; motorists could instinctively swerve to avoid it and hit pedestrians or street furniture, or at least become disorientated. My initial reaction is that it is a really bad idea.

Rather than rely on five minute’s consideration and our gut instinct, does anybody know if somebody like the Transport Research Laboratory had done any work in this area. You can ( and people have) said the traditional road signs and markings are distracting.
