Hi All,

We have some construction work at the moment. The Electrican have drill through our fire walls for cable tray purposes. My question is who should repair the fire walls. The Contractor or ourselves? I have been searching the hsa.ie website and also Fire Building Regulations. This is based in Ireland so would need it to be under Irish H&S.

Thanks,

Depends upon what your contracts say:

If it is merely "install cable tray...." then it is your responsibility to remediate any issues with fire protection

If it states "install cable tray AND remediate" then your sub-contractor is obliged to undertake the works, however you have responsibility to yourselves and any client to ensure this is correctly carried out
