I have been reading a few documents relating to fire and i am wondering how do you obtain the data on the energy released by furnishings within a building to enable you to correctly dtermine the fire risks and loading of a building? Is it BS or similar? And whilst i am at it does anybody have a copy of a fire load spreadsheet i can have

Try Wikipedia for a starter

Wood has a heat output of about 10.4MJ/kg when buned at 70% efficiency
