Does anyone know of a mechanical aid to reduce the manual handling risk when fitting FD60 fire door sets. These weigh in the region of 80kg. We are planning and considering our options, but cannot get away from the fact that at some point the doors will have to be manually handled for fitting. I saw a feature online from 2013 re an aid called a Door Worker that looked ideal but cannot find a supplier.

Try searching door worker in Google. Industrial Plant and Equipment sell them, assuming that's what you saw previously.

Surely something as safety critical as a fire door will be fitted by a competent person, ie a carpenter? If so then they will have all sorts of widgets and gadgets to help them
