We regularly have curtain sided vehicles that are accessed from the rear whilst loading, where the operator needs to climb onto the vehicle using mobile ladders. There is a potential for the operator to fall from the rear of the vehicle when pulling the roof curtain backwards towards the rear of the vehicle.

I am looking to reduce this possibility to as low as possible and wondered if anyone had any suggestions to prevent the residual risk?

Why do the curtains need to be pulled back from the trailer? All our vehicles pull the curtain back from ground level.

When I have encountered these type of vehicles retracting the roof curtain is normally to give access to an overhead crane and the curtain has been pulled to the front of the trailer.

It's only the top roof curtain that is pulled back, as the trailer is loaded/unloaded using an overhead crane.
